OMG! This is hilarious!  

Back in my first post, I talked about how it took me 45 minutes to figure out how to load the background pic (which, I suspect I’ve stolen illegally and genuinely would give the credit if I even could figure out how.)  Anyway, this whole blog has been a journey for me.  It’s like every post I discover something new.  And it’s not like blogger comes with an instruction manual – in fact, it’s interesting that you sign up, and then have this toolbar over on the left, and are basically expected to figure it out?  Although realistically there’s probably an online manual somewhere, but to tell you the truth, being 43, I still prefer having an actual instruction booklet in front of me to read. 

Somewhere along the line, I guess I mentally decided to just figure it out as I go along. Today I discovered that people can follow you!  Which duh, obviously makes sense, cause there are loads of blogs out there with zillions of advertising dollars supporting them, which naturally is a result of their followers.  I don’t really expect this to become that though – mostly it’s just a way for me to do something that I’ve always wanted to do (write) – even if it goes out into the big wide nowhere, it’s more about the process – putting the words to paper, getting them up, making the page what I imagine it to be, just to be able to say to myself that I did. 

Back to figuring out followers! So, people can follow me, but how?  I looked at some other blogs and see a follower button. I go back to the left-hand scary toolbar on blogger and click through a bunch of stuff – no idea.  Over to google – “how to get people to follow you” “how do people follow a blog,” – lots of stuff on how I can follow a blog.  A bunch of stuff on how to get people to follow you – like key words and search words and finally “adding a followers button.” Yes! Success. Read instructions. Flip over to blogger.  Doesn’t match.  Fuck – article is a couple of years old – but the process must be the same – just have to find “add gadget.” I know I saw that somewhere – and I find it – but two different options – top of page, bottom of page – I DON’T KNOW – where do other people put it? Why does it matter?  Decide on bottom of page. Click on add gadget, and a zillion options come up – scroll, scroll, scroll – ADD FOLLOWER BUTTON. And done.

And so, my friends – or no friends – basically anyone out there in the big wide world – follow away! But also, start your own blog.  I literally have no idea what I’m doing and am doing it – you can do it to.  Maybe have a few drinks and some time (right now is ideal cause Corona quarantine and all) – but don’t let not knowing what you’re doing stop you. You’ll probably fuck up a bunch of stuff, but that’s okay.

Like life, we fuck it up, fix it, fuck it up again, fix it again – and 80 percent of the time we have no idea what we’re doing and are googling the shit out of it.
